Abstract
Facet joint injection (FJI) is a Procedure that injects medication into the articular cavity and is used for the treatment of lower back pain caused by the facet joint and its surrounding muscles. However, there are reports that patients with radiculopathy have experienced an improvement in their symptoms by having facet joint injection performed. The authors present three cases of facet joint steroid injection (FJSI) for patients with spinal stenosis accompanied by lower back pain and radiculopathy where the FJSI effectively controlled their pain for several months. In addition to the treatment of facet joint syndrome, FJSI may be effective in patients with spinal stenosis accompanied by lower back pain and radiculopathy. Further studies are needed to find the mechanism of effect and to determine in which patient the FJSI has efficacy.
